The Surge Score is a 0–100 measure of how ready a website is to rank on Google and be recommended by AI assistants. AIRankSurge computes it from 66 deterministic checks in five pillars, so the same site always receives the same score and every point lost is explained in your report.

Four steps, about a minute

  1. Read your site like a crawler. Politely, the way search engines and AI assistants do — including what they see without JavaScript.
  2. Run 66 checks. Across Google SEO, answer engines, AI citation and trust, with evidence and the pages affected.
  3. Test your customers’ questions. The AI Answer Simulator shows which ones your site would be quoted for, and which a competitor wins.
  4. Prioritise and fix. Every issue comes with its exact fix and the points it’s worth — 27 of them fixed in one click.

Technical Health

22 checks · HTTPS, crawlability, sitemaps, speed, mobile, security headers and broken links.

Can every page be reached?

Search engines and AI crawlers can find, fetch and index your pages without hitting walls or dead ends.

Is it fast and secure?

Pages load quickly, run on HTTPS and send the security signals browsers and engines expect.

Does it work on phones?

Google ranks the mobile version of your site first, so we check it the way a phone sees it.

Search Visibility

Does each page say what it’s about?

Titles, descriptions and headings that tell Google exactly which searches a page should win.

Will it look good in results?

How your pages appear in Google, Bing and when shared on social and messaging apps.

Is there enough to rank?

Depth, structure and internal links that give engines a reason to rank you above a competitor.

Answer Engine Readiness

7 checks · Question headings, answer-first paragraphs, FAQ schema and coverage of the questions customers really ask.

Are customer questions answered directly?

Answer engines quote short, direct answers. We check whether yours are where they look for them.

Which questions would you win?

The AI Answer Simulator tests your real customer questions and marks each Answered, Weak or Gap.

Is content easy to lift?

Formats that assistants and featured snippets extract most often.

AI Citation Readiness

13 checks · AI crawler access, llms.txt, structured data, server-rendered content, passage citability, facts and freshness.

Can AI assistants read your site?

Access for 18 AI crawlers, llms.txt, and whether your content exists without JavaScript.

Do machines know who you are?

Structured business identity that AI can state with confidence.

Is your content quotable?

Whether passages are specific, self-contained and fact-rich enough to be cited.

Trust & Entity Strength

9 checks · Consistent name, address and phone, linked profiles, About and privacy pages, authorship and customer proof.

Can customers reach you?

Clear contact routes that both people and engines can verify.

Are you the same business everywhere?

Consistent identity across your site, structured data and profiles.

Do you show who’s behind it?

How is the Surge Score calculated?

Your site is checked against 66 rules grouped into five pillars: technical health, search visibility, answer engine readiness, AI citation readiness and trust. Each pillar gets a 0–100 score and the five combine into your Surge Score. Your report shows every finding on your site, why it matters, how to fix it and how many points it is worth.

Why doesn’t AIRankSurge use an AI model to score sites?

Because scores from language models drift between runs, so you could never tell whether a change to your site helped. AIRankSurge uses a deterministic engine: the same site always gets the same score, so when it moves, something real changed.

Can I see every check?

Yes — for your own website. Every audit lists each issue found, the pages affected, the exact fix and the points it is worth. The full rule catalogue is proprietary and is updated as search engines and AI platforms change.

How often does the ruleset change?

The ruleset is versioned. The current version is rules-2026.10.2. When search engines or AI platforms change their documented behaviour we update it, and reports always record which version produced them.
